We're a young family living our lives in North Carolina, much too far away from our awesome families! This blog is just an effort to keep all of our family and friends, some who are living near, but most who are far, up to date on what's going on in our lives.
Our family was established on a snowy February day in 2007 when me and the man of my dreams promised to love and keep eachother forever. Best decision I ever made :)

My amazing husband Matthew is from Orlando, Florida. He has been working at Duke Hospital in Patient Relations for over 3 years now. He loves all things having to do with airplanes and flying, as well as boating, scuba diving, politics and news. A lover of reading and of learning he is constantly investigating something new! I couldn't imagine a better daddy for our little girl or husband for myself!

My name is Julie and I'm from southern Indiana. I spent my first 4 years out of college working full-time as an ICU nurse at Duke while also working part-time in the ER for 2 1/2 years. However, now I've backed down to working part-time and I'm living my dream as a "mostly" stay-at-home mom to my beautiful little girl, Ainsley. I'm excited to be learning about how to simplify our life while also learning about all things domestic... none of which I have much experience or ANY skill!! This includes cooking, cleaning our home efficiently and safely, organizing, decorating, crafting and saving money.

Ainsley is our precious daughter who was born in March 2010. She is an answer to prayer and a sweet gift from God. She is literally, a dream come true. I am enjoying every second of being home with her and want to use this blog as a way to document these days that go by much too fast. I hope that it allows our family and friends to know what's going on with us as well as to give us something to look back on and to remember these sweet days by.

We have just started the process of adopting 2 kiddos from Uganda! We don't know their gender, ages or names... but our Father does. We can't wait until the day we can bring them home!

We also have 2 pups, a Silky Terrier named Schatzi and a Yorkie named Maddie. These sweet little dogs bring us a lot of joy and laughter and we can't imagine our life without them!

I hope you enjoy reading our blog and keeping up to date on what's going on in our household. I love hearing from you, so leave me a comment so I know you're there!!
